Yes folks, it’s 2014 and people are still making fake photoshopped pics and sending them out on social media, tricking people into believing it’s the real thing.

Last night, Trey Songz became victim to an Internet hoax, when a tweet that he allegedly sent from his social media account announcing that he had “come out” started circulating the Internet.

It read:

I think it’s time to finally tell my fans. All games and jokes aside…I’m gay.

The tweet spread through Instagram and Twitter faster than a wildfire, before Trey Songz responded this morning:

The things you people craft up with hatred in your hearts. The things people believe without question, or validity, all baffles me. Photoshop and a retweet is all people need to believe, any and everything. I feel bad for the impressionable, no minds of their own. If I’m gay then Tupac bringing me a ounce for this session wit Biggie tomorrow. No weapon. #LOVE.

last tweet was funny doe!!

Meanwhile, Trey is currently caught up in a silly beef with his former friend and ace August Alsina. Last month, the up and coming R&B singer revealed to Rap-Up TV that camaraderie no longer exists between the two:

I don’t really f-ck with Trey right now. We don’t get along right now. We ain’t on the same page. He did some other sh-t and we just don’t rock. Like I tell people all the time, show me that you’re this person on day one… You should always be that person. We were supposed to have a show together and it just went left ’cause I can’t deal with ni**as’ egos and attitudes ’cause I’m just a real ni**a comin’ through and I’m rockin’

He also tweeted a subliminal shot to Trey last week:
