The internet can be an incredibly scary place for teens these days. There's SO many crazy apps out there that, if used irresponsibly, can actually be kind of dangerous. It's way too easy for kids to meet strangers now, and even worse, adults posing as other kids. Even if you DO go though your teen's phone to check up on their activity and who they might be talking to, it's way too easy for them to be hiding things from you IF they really wanted to.
Here are some apps to look out for...
A lot of these apps seem to be an open door for bullying like the Whisper app, Ask.fm, Burnbook & Wishbone..and being that bullying is such a HUGE issue these days and one of the leading causes of teen suicides, definitely be aware if your child is using these apps..and EDUCATE them on the matter. With all this social media these days it is extremely easy for ANYONE to get access to your child. So scary!
