NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The Metro Public Health Department (MPHD) has confirmed 226 cases of hepatitis A in Nashville since December 2017.
The total reflects a seven case increase compared to a month ago according to the department, continuing a year-long outbreak.
In response to the outbreak, MPHD has provided free vaccines to over 14,700 people since May of last year.
Those at greatest risk of exposure are drug users, men who have sexual contact with other men, and homeless individuals. Free vaccines continue to be offered at MPHD offices located at the East Health Center at 1015 East Trinity Lane, Lentz Health Center at 2500 Charlotte Avenue, and Woodbine Health Center at 224 Oriel Avenue.
