81,000 still without power in Nashville, it could be out for a week or two

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —UPDATE: (5-5-20)

Nashville Electric Service said more than 81,000 customers are still without power after a derecho brought Category 1 hurricane-strength straight line winds on Sunday.

NES said Tuesday morning crews are still working around the clock to restore power. Another round of storms came Monday night as folks were hunkered down at home with no power.

After the height of the storms Sunday, NES reported a historic 130,000 outages.

NES President Decosta Jenkins said during a news briefing Monday that people should prepare to be without power for up to a week or two
