NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —Tennessee is once again in the top 10 for the states with the worst drivers, according to a study.
This year, Tennessee came in third place when looking at data that indicates in some states, drivers are more responsible than in others, SmartAssest reports.
For its fourth year, SmartAssest looked at metrics including DUI arrests per 1,000 drivers, fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles driven and the percentage of insured drivers to find the states with the worst drivers.
Among its findings were that Tennessee was among the top 10 in the nation for the lowest rate of insured drivers with about 20% of uninsured drivers.
"Tennessee also has the 12th-highest rate for the Google search metric we considered in our analysis, with ticket-related searches occurring 1.63 times as often as searches related to gasoline," SmartAssest wrote.
For the third year in a row, Mississippi came in as the worst state in the nation when it comes to drivers.
