Breonna Taylor's Family Asks KY Governor For New Special Prosecutor

Kentucky attorney general Daniel Cameron did not present charges to the grand jury that would've sought justice in the case of Breonna Taylor. Taylor's family attorney, Benjamin Crump, took to Twitter Saturday afternoon, one day after 15 hours of grand jury recordings were made public. Here's what Crump said:

In the tweet, Crump released an open letter to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear via his website asking for a new special prosecutor and criticizing Cameron for not presenting appropriate charges that would've brought justice to Taylor's family. Crump also said in his letter:

“It's an affront to justice that after Louisville police officers unlawfully broke into Breonna Taylor's apartment and fatally shot her five times, only one officer faces minor charges, and for the bullets that didn't hit Ms. Taylor.”

Crump also mentioned the grand jury recordings, saying:

"When the grand jurors asked about seeing more body camera video and they actually wanted to see all the body camera video the prosecutor said, 'we don't have time.'"
