NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —FOX 17 News has issued a CODE RED Alert for potential flooding and isolated severe weather in Middle Tennessee overnight and into the weekend.
FOX 17 CODE RED Meteorologist Greg Bobos says rain will move into the midstate after midnight, impacting areas south of I-40 into Friday morning. Scattered rain will move into most of the midstate and Southern Kentucky Friday through Sunday.
Severe weather late Friday will be possible for areas south of I-40 with the potential for isolated strong to severe storms that could bring damaging wind or small sized hail.
The majority of areas will face a primary concern of flooding with up to 4 inches of rain possible by Monday. The highest rainfall totals will be south of I-40 although creeks, streams, and rivers in the Midstate could see rising levels.
