Metro Schools see 259 COVID-19 cases, 1,075 quarantines

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —Metro Nashville Public Schools report 259 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 1,075 quarantines or isolations among students and staff during the first week of school.

That's according to the latest online information for the week of Aug. 9 to Aug. 15 via the COVID-19 Tracker.

Many schools are reporting less than 5 cases per school and the most cases at one school is 10.

Metro Schools said there are 207 confirmed COVID-19 cases among students and 52 confirmed cases among staff.

There were 980 students and 95 staff members quarantined or isolated, the report said.

Last week, more than 80,000 Metro Schools students went back to class. Masks are required at MNPS.
