The pop star, dancer, and body positivity activist hasn't given a performance in the area in three years. Lizzo’s previous performance at the Ryman Auditorium was in 2019, while her breakout single "Truth Hurts" was still at the top of the charts, leading many of the 2,000 attendees to twerk on top of the venue's historic pews. She returned on Sunday night (October 23), performing in front of a crowd nearly eight times larger than the one at the mother church of country music. On stage, she is a hard working, dedicated, and present performer with a strong voice and seldom ever takes a breather. Currently on her "Special" tour, Lizzo encouraged voting and self-love.
