Cardi B Hits Back At Nicki Minaj's Claim That She Bought Her Success

Cardi B seemingly hit back at Nicki Minaj's scathing podcast disses by pulling up some receipts that argue she didn't need to pay for radio play to gain a growing fanbase.

On Wednesday afternoon (September 12), Bardi took to Instagram to share two particular posts about her recent sales and her early career days in 2016. First up, the rapper shared a stat sheet, which revealed that her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, holds the number three spot on 2018's Top 10 Best Selling Hip-Hop Albums list. "NUMBERS DONT F**KING LIE," she captioned the shot.

Next up, the rapper shared throwback footage of a packed concert she did on July 29, 2016. "NO LABEL, NO RADIO PLAY, FRESH OUT OF LOVE AND HIP HOP, ONLY 200K IN MY BANK ACCOUNT, MY FIRST TOUR!!!" she captioned the video. "Nobody can make you feel like you cheated yourself or you don't deserve to be where you at when you KNOW YOU WORKED YOURSELF TO THE TOP !!! THANK YOU BARDIGANG! YOU BEEN HERE SINCE THE GET GO!"

It's been a battle of she said/she said as the rappers have gone head-to-head with subtle and some not so subtle disses in the last week. During the latest episode of her podcast, Minaj claimed that Cardi's publicist had to write up a response to the pair's NYFW scuffle to gain sympathy for the situation"You knew that when that footage came out, you was about to look f**king dumb, so your publicist — also looking f**king dumb — they hurried up and put out a statement," Nicki explained. "I'm such a ill-ass b*tch I didn't even feel the need to defend myself that night. . .I just want everybody to marinate for two minutes. But we did hear this woman say that nothing's off limits because she has built her career off of sympathy and payola."
