TSU Alumni saved many lives from Waffle House Shooting in Nashville!!

4 people were killed this morning at a Waffle House in Antioch, TN. Police are still searching for 29-year-old Travis Reinking of Morton, Illinois. My heart immediately stopped when I heard of the news, because I have many friends that live in Antioch. Luckily, there was a hero that saved the day. James Shaw a 29-year-old entrepreneur, father, TSU Alum, and now hero, rushed the suspected shooter, disarmed him and threw the assault rifle he was carrying over the counter.

According to the Tennessean, Shaw Jr. said he was grazed by a bullet, treated for a minor gunshot wound and released from the hospital later in the morning.

“I don’t know if it has hit me yet as far as witnessing other people dying,” Shaw Jr. said. “It's kind of, it shouldn’t have happened. When I was in the ambulance to hospital I kept thinking that I’m going to wake up and it’s not going to be real. It is something out a movie. I’m OK though, but I hate that it happened.”
