The Nashville Sports Council is working to bring the 2026 world cup to the city. the NSC recruits tournaments and sporting events to come to the city, working to fill hotels and restaurants. The ongoing construction will help accommodate the increase in visitors in Nashville.
This is more good news for soccer fans in Nashville after news in December last year about The Nashville MLS team which will be a Major League Soccer expansion franchise that is expected to begin play in 2019 or 2020. The club will play their home matches at the Nashville Fairgrounds at a planned 27,500-seater soccer-specific stadium.
