Six Murfreesboro Teachers Charged With Conspiracy to Take Drugs Into Prison

Six teachers in Rutherford County have been arrested and charged with felony conspiracy to take drugs into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A teacher, Shelley Gurda, allegedly tried to bring Suboxone into the jail in September. Suboxene is used to treat adults who are addicted or dependent on opioids. Gurda's son, Thomas Gurda Jr., who is also an inmate at the Detention Center, was also charged with conspiracy along with two other inmates.
