Amendment 1 for a community oversight board for Metro Police has passed by a margin of 59-41. The oversight board will be a group of community members who will take on complaints about police officers. In addition, they'll be able to conduct investigations and take actions to fix the complaints. The board is estimated to cost $1.5 million annually.
The fraternal order of Police heavily opposed the board and you may have noticed the promotion around the city that said "Vote no on amendment 1"
