Judge Genece Brinkley filed docs explaining why she rejected Meek Mill's motion for a hearing and here are the reasons she cited:
- Brinkley claims Meek's request needed to be filed a year after his original 2009 sentence became final. It was not.
- Judge Brinkley says the Philly article exposing the police corruption scandal is based on old police documents that were readily available to Meek's attorneys.
- She says Meek has repeatedly admitted his guilt
- Judge Brinkley doesn't think there is anything special about Meek's case, saying post-sentencing bail should only be granted in "exceptional cases for compelling reasons."
