NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Amazon plans to announce Nashville will serve as the East Coast hub of operations, adding 5,000 jobs to the market.
The report comes after Music City was passed over for the HQ2 project that would have created up to 50,000 jobs. Nashville was among the Top 20 finalists for the spot.
Instead, the company picked Crystal City, Virginia and New York City for the HQ2 expansion.
In a statement on the company website, Amazon says Nashville will be selected as a new Center of Excellence for the Operations business.
The center is responsible for customer fulfillment, transportation, supply chain, and other activities.
