Over the weekend, Ava Duvernay's mini series based on the real life events of the Central Park 5 was released. 'When They See Us' tells the horrifying story of 5 young black teenagers from Harlem who were forced to confess to an assault and rape that they did not commit. The over zealous prosecutor, Linda Fairstein, who was head of Manhattan's sex crime unit, received a lot of well deserved backlash over the weekend. So much so in fact, that she deleted all of her social media accounts. However, I don't think the punishment fits the crime. She ruined 5 lives, she deserves a much steeper penalty than a little social media heckling.
