NEW YORK, N.Y. (WSET) -- Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may soon have her own action figure as part of a series of political action figurescreated by FCTRY.
The company shared its “AOC” doll design through a kickstart fundraising campaign launched on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
"AOC went from bartending and waiting tables to becoming one of the most influential politicians of our time, all in the span of three years. If Hollywood made a movie about her life, you'd probably say it was too far-fetched to believe," the company's CEO Jason Feinberg said. "Adding her to our collection of political action figures was a no-brainer. AOC is the face of the future."
The fundraiser is asking its supporters to help finance the product along with other political action figures. It has raised over $27,000 surpassing its goal of $15,000 with nearly 1,000 backers so far.
"We're toymakers, not prophets, so take what we say with a grain of salt," the company said. "But we've got a pretty good track record of spotting real-life heroes in the making and from where we sit, AOC has the makings of a legend. So, we're doing what we do best and turning her into an action figure."
FCTRY offers other action figures including Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,Sen. Kamala Harris,former President Barack Obama and more.
