'Only purchase enough food for the week' during pandemic, FDA says

If you've gone to the grocery store recently, you may have seen some empty shelves.

But Food and Drug Administration officials say there are no nationwide food shortages.

According to the FDA commissioner, Americans should only buy enough food to last a week.

The agency says low supplies on certain items will be restocked soon.

To help, the FDA is relaxing some safety standards to make sure there are no disruptions to the food supply chain.
