NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —Billboard has named two local universities, Belmont and MTSU, among best music business schools in the world.
Belmont's Mike Curb College of Entertainment in Nashville hails famous alumni like Trisha Yearwood , who hosted CMA Country Christmas at her Alma mater last year.
Billboard cites Belmont's live music venues, specialty courses and partnerships with publishing groups in Nashville creating opportunities for students.
Meanwhile, just down the road in Murfreesboro, Billboard says Middle Tennessee State University is one of the nation's oldest and highly regarded music business programs. Founded in the early 1970s, MTSU enrolls about 1,200 students each year and offers studies in audio productions, songwriting, digital animation and more.
MTSU alumni have won 32 Grammys, including two at the most recent awards show.
