NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —Nashville native and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts surprised customers at the Kroger on Clarksville Highway in the Bordeaux area of Nashville by paying for their groceries.
Betts said he wanted to help out the community after Nashville was hit hard by tornadoes in March and continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.
The former American League MVP also treated staff at the store to pizza to thank them for their efforts as essential front-line workers.
