NASHVILLE, Tenn.--A rally in Nashville against police brutality and white supremacy has been planned for Saturday at Legislative Plaza.
The "I Will Breathe" rally references the death of George Floyd, a Minnesota man who was killed by an officer in Minneapolis. His death has sparked protests and outcry from many public officials.
The rally will feature figures from throughout the city, including Senator Brenda Gilmore, activist and Congressional hopeful Justin Jones, Keith Caldwell of the NAACP and numerous others from the religious community and elsewhere.
The rally is slated for Saturday, May 30 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. CST with participants asked to meet at the parking lot across from the First Baptist Church Capitol located at 625 Rosa Parks Boulevard. The rally will then be held at Legislative Plaza.
