Another week of protests scheduled in Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —Another week of protests is scheduled in Middle Tennessee in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

Some are protesting racism and police brutality while others are calling to defund police.

This comes after thousands showed up in Nashville over the weekend for a "Black Lives Matter" rally and others hosted a protestdemanding to end COVID-19 shutdowns.

Nashville:

Black Lives Matter Nashville shared an event for 5 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall. Members of the "Nashville People's Budget" will be in attendance. It's calling to demand city coubcil defund "police and cages." Metro Council also meets Tuesday.

Another peaceful protest event, "Band Together For Justice: A March On Music Row " is taking place Wednesday on Music Row. Protesters will gather at Tony Rose Park on 8 Music Circle E. at 5 p.m. and will march on Music Row.

Multiple protests, rallies and marches have taken place in Middle Tennessee in the weeks since the death of George Floyd. Four Minneapolis police officers are charged in his death.
