NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —Metro Nashville Police issued 16 citations for violating the city's mask mandate on Thursday.
Mayor John Cooper tweeted Thursday that police issued 16 civil citations for mask ordinance violations.
"Don't share your air, Nashville. Remember to wear a face covering in all public places," Mayor Cooper said.
Officers will continue an enhanced enforcement operation through the weekend. Specifically, officers will be stepping up mask mandate enforcement with walking patrols from 3:30 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Thirty officers will be separated into walking teams, including six officers who will be on ATVs and conduct mobile enforcement, including stopping and citing any “transpotainment” vehicles operating in violation of Metro Health's order.
