Williamson County Still Has A Confederate Flag On It's Seal

I was today years old when I found out Williamson County has a seal. I was also today years old when I found out that said seal still has a Confederate Flag on it. A task force has recommended that the seal be changed and the Flag removed, but why did they even need a task force to tell them that a symbol of racism should be removed? Check out the story below from FOX 17:

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) —A Williamson County task force has recommended to commissioners changing an image that has been used on the county's seal for decades. At issue is the Confederate flag depicted in the upper left quadrant of the seal.

The county took public feedback on the seal after a Williamson County parent started a petition in June calling for the removal of the flag. In the first 24 hours of opening public feedback, the county had more than 250 people give their suggestions.

Following the task force recommendations, the county commission is expected to take a look at the matter on the second Monday in September.
