Famed academic Michael Eric Dyson is moving to Nashville and joining Vanderbilt University in 2021. The school announced yesterday that Dyson will join them as a distinguished professor of African American and diaspora studies and professor of ethics and society. Dyson is famous for writing over 20 books on subjects ranging from Malcolm X to Martin Luther King Jr. to Marvin Gaye to Hurricane Katrina, and many more. Dyson has received 3 NAACP Image Awards, the Southern Book Prize and the American Book Award. He has also been featured on numerous television shows and is a regular on cable news.
