Donald J. Trump has announced he and wife Melania have tested positive for COVID-19.
The President made the announcement via Twitter just before midnight on Thursday.
According to the tweet, President Trump states "Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!"
The announcement came after it was announced Hope Hicks has also tested positive for the virus.
The First Lady also responded, saying "we are feeling good."
Mike Pence posted on Twitter, saying, "Karen and I send our love and prayers to our dear friends President Donald Trump and Melania Trump."
Leaders from around the world have sent well wishes, including Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, who previously contracted coronavirus. Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have also reached out.
