In Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Bender’s new book, “‘Frankly, We Did Win This Election’: The Inside Story Of How Trump Lost,” details on how former president Donald Trump wanted the military to combat protestors of George Floyd’s death, is mentions and it details the stark difference between the protests of last summer and the insurrection of the White House on January 6th, 2021. Reportedly Trump told advisors that he wanted soldiers to “beat the f__k” out of the peaceful protestors and repeatedly demanded to “just shoot them,” and “crack their skulls.” The book notes that aides challenged the order which made Trump lower his commands to, “Well, shoot them in the leg — or maybe the foot, but be hard on them.” Bender also wrote that General Mark Milley, the nation’s highest-ranking military officer, told Trump’s then-senior policy adviser Stephen Miller to “shut the f__k up” after Miller claimed cities were like war zones.
