In Latest Lawyer Shakeup The trial for Nipsey Hussle’s alleged killer has been delayed, again, until December. A new lawyer for Eric Holder, who is accused of killing Nipsey in front of his Marathon Clothing Store on May 31, 2019, spoke on the delayed case. “A lot of the work was done by my predecessor. Hopefully, by the end of the year, maybe early December, we can go to trial,” Deputy Public Defender Aaron Jansen. Jansen also spoke to Holder’s mental health history, “One of the things affecting him [in March 2019] was that his mother had just passed away. He was pretty despondent,” says Jansen. Holder’s trial has been postponed several times due to Holder not wanting to leave his cell, COVID-19, a judge’s retirement, and former O.J. Simpson prosecutor, Christopher Darden, stepping down over threats to his family. Eric Holder is charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder, he has pled not guilty. If convicted he faces life in prison.
