After Failing to Obtain Her Masters He Holds Ashanti is planning to pull what is now known as “a Taylor Swift,” which is when an artist re-records their earlier works in an effort to regain their masters and profit that is generated from them. During an interview with Angie Martinez, Ashanti revealed she’ll be re-recording her debut album and when a snippet from the interview was uploaded to social media, Murder Inc head honcho, Irv Gotti chimed in. “Just for super clarity. I own all those great Ashanti Albums Angie. I own the Masters. And. I Produced all those great Ashanti Albums. So I also own a good portion of the Publishing,” Irv stated. Irv admitted Ashanti has the right to re-record her music but says “I wanna see her duplicate that Magic. It’s f-cked up really. But such is life.”
