Rumors are swirling regarding Kanye West replacing Virgil Abloh as the director of men’s wear at Louis Vuitton. A source close to Kanye says “Kanye feels like he owes it to Virgil Abloh to continue his vision.” Kanye and Virgil had been friends for over a decade after interning together at Fendi in 2009. Virgil Abloh secretly fought a battle with a rare form of cancer called, cardiac angiosarcoma, he died on November 28th at the age of 41.
Whether these rumors are coming from a higher up at Louis Vuitton or somebody close to Kanye remains to be seen. We will keep you updated as more unfolds.
