Auction house Sotheby's auction of 200 Abloh-designed Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1's sold EIGHT times more than their estimated value. The original estimated value was $3 million. The total sale, breaking an industry record for a sneaker and fashion auction was $25.3 million. All the proceeds will benefit the Virgil Abloh 'Post Modern' Scholarship Fund created to encourage and support Black talent in the fashion industry. I'm glad this money is going to a good cause, but seriously? 25Ms? That's INSANE to me on so many levels, including the fact that there are people rich enough to pay that while others literally starve.
