It's not as much as everyone wants, but the average cost per gallon of gas in the U.S. has gone down. According to the latest report from the Lundberg Survey, the average national cost per gallon now sits at $4.24. This is a 3-cent drop from two weeks ago. There has been a 19-cent drop over the last six weeks, though the current cost is still $1.27 higher than it was a year ago.
