The Game’s new album, DRILLMATIC, is having a hard time due to its projection of moving less than 20k copies in the first week despite having close to 30 songs on it. The project has faced controversy over the removal of Nipsey Hussle’s verse because The Game and Wack 100, his manager, didn’t get the proper clearances. Another song that has been nixed is “O.P.P” with NBA Youngboy. According to Wack, Youngboy gave them a discount on the verse by charging $150K over his normal $300K, but it caused the project to go over budget. Ten additional songs were added that contained six samples, so there wasn’t enough money to clear the samples and pay NBA Youngboy. It just wasn’t recoupable.
