Burna Boy and Tems were both nominated for the 2023 Grammy Awards. Burna Boy is the first Nigerian musician nominated four years in a row. Burna boy's 6th studio album "Love Damini" and its lead single "Last Last" were nominated for best Global Music Album and best Global Music Performance at the Academy Awards, the most of any Afrobeats artist. Tems received two nominations for "Wait For U" with Future & Drake for Best Rap Song and Best Melodic Rap Performance, as well as three nominations in noteworthy categories as a featured artist on Beyoncé's Renaissance for Album of the Year.
