How long have we all been rooting for Kaep to get signed?
How EXCITED were we all that he was FINALLY about to get signed?
Well..don't get your hopes up..again..because the Seahawks decided to go a different direction with their back up quarter back. Why? Kaepernick is "too good".
The Seahawks had Austin Davis in for a visit right around the same time they had Kaepernick drop by a couple weeks ago. But their decision to opt for Davis instead brought renewed attention to what head coach Pete Carroll had said Friday, when he told reporters Kaepernick is “a starter in this league.” Because who needs a starting-caliber QB to be a backup when there’s a perfectly fine career backup out there who hasn’t thrown a pass in two years?
There were reports that Kaepernick wasn't being signed because he was demanding starter money, more money than the Seahawks wanted to fork up for him, but Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk and Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report both shot that notion down, and Kaepernick has been busy retweeting alllllll those reports.
It seems like ever since he took a knee last year during the National Anthem to protest police brutality, things have been going downhill for him and he is having a hard time getting signed. Like this is way harder than it needs to be. He can play the game and we all know he can. He would be a great addition to anyone's team. But it seems like no one wants to sign him because they don't want to be in the position to have to put up with any potential "controversy"?
It's awful. For Kaep. It seemed like everyone supported him and took a knee during the National Anthem, but he's the only one paying for it. If they treated everyone who protested like they're treating him..I mean who would be left?
We're rooting for you Kaep. We hope you get back on that field soon!
