Health Inspector Buys 13 Year Old's Permit After Cops Were Called

All these #PermitPatties have been coming out of the woodwork lately, calling the cops on any and every minority they see out trying to make a dollar, but this Minnesota health inspector decided to handle things a little differently after the cops were called on 13 year old, Jaequan Faulkner, who was selling hot dogs.

The teen's business, Mr. Faulkner's Old Fashioned Hot Dogs, has become a neighborhood staple. Reports say that he was trying to make a few extra bucks to get ready for the new school year approaching, supplies, clothes, etc. When Minneapolis health inspectors received a complaint about his hot dog stand, instead of shutting him down, they decided to help his entrepreneurship!

"When I realized what it was, I said, 'No, we're not going to just go and shut him down like we would an unlicensed vendor,’" Minneapolis environmental health director Dan Huff told CNN. "We can help him get the permit. Let's make this a positive thing and help him become a business owner."

The Health Department staff instead provided him with the proper equipment and knowledge needed to pass a health inspection and run his hot dog stand. He received thermometers, food containers, hand sanitizer, untensil cleaning stations, and inspectors even paid the $87 required to obtain his permit.

"Surprisingly, I'm like, 'Dang, the city's not the bad guys in this situation.' They're actually the ones who are helping me," Jaequan told KARE 11. "It makes me feel kind of — not kind of — really proud that people know what I'm doing."
