The Salt Lake County Ice Center in Utah posted this on their Facebook page last Monday and its gone pretty viral. Its sad but really sweet at the same time. The ice center received a heartbreaking request..a resident was looking for a little snow…for their dog Maggie, who was dying of cancer, and they wanted Maggie to play in the snow “one last time”. They were originally asking around online for someone if they had a shaved ice machine..they were going to build her one last snow bank to roll in themselves..then someone directed them to the ice center to see if they could help. Once the ice center workers heard that Maggie was dying of cancer and her owners were looking for snow..they quickly made Maggies dying wish come true..donating gallons of manufactured snow to the family. They said, “today our staff shaved some extra ice and loaded it into bins and buckets..and the owner took the snow home to Maggies backyard where she enjoyed it with her family." the Salt Lake Ice Center said on Facebook “sending our love and condolences to Maggies family. We appreciate the unique privilege of providing her a little heaven on earth..and also posted photos of Maggie enjoying her personal snow bank with a sign that read “Maggies snow”!
