Lil Yachty Reveals He Wrote City Girls Hit Single “Act Up!”

This news has definitely caught everyone by surprise! Yachty is listed as one of three writers, along with EarlThePearll and Jatavia “J.T.” Johnson, on the standout track off the duo’s November albumGirl Code and find were wondering what exactly did he write?

Well in a recent interview he revealed the news, that he in fact “wrote the whole song minus J.T’s last verse.”

Yachty, who is signed to Quality Control along with City Girls, went on to explain his writing process. “I just thought like them,” added Yachty. “I know them personally and I know what women like to hear. I was like, ‘What’s just some raunchy shit?’ So before I went in the booth, I said, ‘No homo y’all.’ All my boys was in the room. And I started saying crazy shit. But I came out and I was like, ‘Y’all watch, this is about to blow up.’”

Sure enough, “Act Up” continues to blow up the charts. It currently sits at No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
