Texas School Threatens 6th-Grader with Suspension Over Haircut

When sixth-grader Xavier Davis showed up to school with a haircut that has been made famous by soccer stars and musicians, he was told to fix it, or he might face suspension.

The haircut that caused the problem? Two simple lines shaved into the side of his hair above his left temple. Although it seemed innocent enough, his teacher at Cedar Bayou Junior High School in Baytown, Texas, thought otherwise. Xavier told Houston-based TV station, KPRC, “I was walking into class, and then she saw my hair and said, 'You can't have two lines in your hair. Go to the office.'”

That is because the school district’s dress code stipulates, “Letters, symbols, and designs beyond a single straight line which draw attention to an individual shall not be permitted...The administrator/supervisor reserves the right to determine if a hairstyle is disruptive to the educational process."

So basically you can't have any sauce!
