Taraji P Henson hosted the kudofest that was heavy on performances and short on awards. Highlights included the lifetime achievement award tribute to Queen Latifah by Rapsody, Lil Kim, MC Lyte, and Monie Love; and the tribute to DMX featuring Method Man, Griselda, Michael K Williams, Busta Rhymes, and Jadakiss.
For the record, Latifah probably came closer than ever to revealing something about her personal life when she thanked Ebony, whom she referred to as, “My love,” and finished her lifetime achievement award speech with, “Happy Pride.”
