Don Lemon and Jussie Smollett are friends, and their friendship was testified to during the trial of Jussie Smollett. Jussie during his testimony said that Don Lemon would text him updates to his case and commented about the Chicago PD. After Jussie Smollett was found 'guilty', Don was singing a different tune during his show. Don said, "I guess he got caught up in that because he took the stand himself. He got angry with the prosecutor as the prosecutor poked holes in his story, calling the only other witnesses liars." A legal analyst on the show said, "When you look at the case, the verdict, everything else — many people have said this is a case about credibility and he said, she said. I disagree.
