Many Republicans criticize the IRS funding because some believe agents will go after middle-class workers since the elite have an army of lawyers. Elon Musk had mocked the hiring, posting a meme on Twitter, "when the country that revolted over taxes hires 87,000 new IRS agents" with a photo of a British Officer from the movie The Patriot.
